Terms of Service
1. Service Description
Aeon ("we", "us", "the Service") provides daily email briefings containing federal government opportunities aggregated from public data sources including SAM.gov, Grants.gov, USAJobs, and other official government portals. The Service includes personalized matching based on user-configured preferences.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements. Business accounts must be authorized by the organization they represent.
3. Account Registration
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. One account per individual user; sharing accounts is prohibited.
4. Data Accuracy & Disclaimer
Opportunity data is sourced directly from official government systems. While we strive for accuracy:
- We do not guarantee completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of any data
- Data may be delayed, incomplete, or contain errors from source systems
- Always verify opportunities on the official government portal before taking action
- We are not responsible for decisions made based on our data
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
5. Subscription & Billing
- Pricing: Feeds are priced individually, starting at $19/month per feed
- Trial: 14-day free trial on all feeds; credit card required
- Billing: Monthly or annual billing via Stripe; charges occur at the start of each billing period
- Cancellation: Cancel anytime via the Billing page; access continues until end of current period
- Refunds: No refunds for partial periods; disputed charges handled per Stripe's policies
- Price changes: We may change prices with 30 days notice; existing subscriptions honored until renewal
6. Service Availability
We target 99.5% uptime for brief delivery. However:
- Scheduled maintenance may cause brief interruptions (communicated in advance when possible)
- Source system outages (SAM.gov, etc.) may affect data availability
- We do not guarantee delivery at exactly 6:00 AM ET; delays of up to 2 hours are within normal operation
- No credits or refunds for service interruptions unless total monthly downtime exceeds 24 hours
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Share, redistribute, or resell brief contents or data
- Use automated tools to access the Service (scraping, bots, etc.)
- Attempt to circumvent access controls or rate limits
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Interfere with service operation or other users' access
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
Violation may result in immediate account termination without refund.
8. Intellectual Property
Our IP: The Aeon name, logo, website design, matching algorithms, and email templates are our property. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works.
Government Data: Underlying opportunity data from government sources is public domain. Our curation, scoring, and presentation are proprietary.
Your Data: You retain ownership of your preferences and feedback. You grant us license to use this data to provide and improve the Service.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AEON SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Aeon, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
11. Termination
By you: Cancel anytime via the Billing page.
By us: We may terminate your account for Terms violations, non-payment, or at our discretion with 30 days notice. Upon termination, your right to access the Service ends immediately. Data retention follows our Privacy Policy.
12. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be:
- First attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation
- If unresolved after 30 days, submitted to binding arbitration under AAA Commercial Arbitration Rules
- Arbitration shall occur in the United States, conducted in English
- Each party bears its own costs; arbitrator fees split equally
CLASS ACTION WAIVER: You agree to resolve disputes individually, not as part of any class or representative action.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
14. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with changes, you may cancel your subscription.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Aeon regarding the Service.
